We're Here

Hola,

Sorry We did not get to post yesterday, as we were still working out the internet connection and everything.

The flight went well for all as well as the bus ride. We have settled into the hotel rooms, but we are still getting used to the heat and the mosquitoes (also the strange number of spiders we have come across at work). I have been bitten a few times, but its not really that bad, as the weather has only been around the mid 80s ( only :) )

The kids are all still here as well as the moms. The case is very full as always with 11 mothers and nearly 60 kids running around. Good news though- the "compound" next door to the Casa de Pastor is almost complete. Soon the mothers and kids will be able to move into a huge new facility. In fact, Juanita is looking to nearly triple their capacity within the next 9 months!

It has been especially interesting to see all of the kids growing up. Juanita's (the cook) kids are getting big. Little Efrieem, Marta's little boy is quickly becoming the man of the house along side of his 2 brothers.

But, as I said, lots of work done today after we settled in. Rick, Bill, and all of the construction crew were busy at work rigging up a system to get the beams to span the roof of the church. Rudy was busy welding and mounting brackets to the beams with the help from Ron. Sandy was one of the masterminds behind the whole operation with the system of pulleys and winches set up to lift this 800 pound piece of steel into place. In fact, everyone had to pitch in to hold down the scaffold as the weigh of the beam lifted up the frame.

Randie, Sue and the Casio girls went to the Ensenada to pick up supplies for the birthday celebration we are having tomorrow. I am looking forward to spending more time with the kids.

that's all for tonight, until tomorrow.

In Christ,

Billy

Dear Mr. Billy
I'm glad to hear that the team has made it down safely. I'm sure the epic Costco trip was exciting. Did anybody make sure that Ralph got extra insurance on his rental vehicle?

Thanks for the updates! The team is in our prayers daily!
